Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation is a type of Polyurethane Spray Foam Insulation. As the name suggests, the physical structure of the foam plastic is made up of cells that are “closed”, or solid. Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation is a two-component system that we spray using high-quality equipment. Using the equipment, our crews spray a liquid that expands approximately 30x its original size in just a few seconds. During the expansion process, the spray foam insulation fills all gaps and voids in the framing, and creates an air-seal. This product qualifies as an air-impermeable insulation when sprayed at the minimum thickness specified by the manufacturer (typically 1.0″ thickness). Additionally, this product is also a vapor barrier.

Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation is an air-barrier and complies with the Building Code requirements as a High-Performance Product. We can perform Energy Modeling services to show compliance at lower R-Values. Because of this, prescriptive R-Values do not need to be meet without compromising on building performance. This product is considered a medium-density product, as opposed to low-density open cell foam. Furthermore, Close Cell foam provides excellent R-Value per inch for the cost of install, typically R-6.2/inch. As a result, the high R-Value per inch makes this product an excellent choice for your project!
